GOOD

THE SPACE Updated working-class tavern: hexagonal-tiled floors, dark-wood paneling, a mahogany bar with mirrors and stained glass. Three dining rooms with about 130 seats, as well as outdoor tables in the summer. A restroom and most tables are wheelchair-accessible.

THE CROWD Updated working-class Hoboken: professional, casually dressed singles, couples and families.

THE STAFF Friendly and efficient.

THE BAR As noted above; not too noisy, even when full. The wine and beer lists are sophisticated and reasonably priced.

THE BILL Brunch entrees, $8 to $12. Dinner entrees, $14 to $29. Credit cards: American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

WHAT WE LIKE Crab cake, calamari, cheese plate; rib-eye steak, rack of lamb, lobster ravioli.

IF YOU GO Open daily. Dinner: Sunday to Wednesday, 5 to 10 p.m.; Thursday, 5 to 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to midnight. Brunch: Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations recommended. On-street parking is very limited; the restaurant offers three hours of validated free parking at Little Man Parking, 12th and Hudson Streets.
